{"id":715,"date":"2021-01-06T14:28:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-06T12:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/urmas.antrotsenter.ee\/regulations\/"},"modified":"2023-08-10T23:12:53","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T20:12:53","slug":"regulations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/triathlonestonia.ee\/en\/regulations\/","title":{"rendered":"Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Triathlon Estonia race regulations<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Cut-off times<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cut-off time is the maximum amount of time allowed either for completing a segment of the race or finishing the whole race.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In full distance triathlon, from the start of swim: finishing the swim \u2013 2:15; finishing the bike \u2013 08:00 (it is allowed to exceed time limit in normal traffic); finishing the run \u2013 17:00.<\/li>\n<li>In half distance triathlon, from the start of swim: finishing the swim \u2013 1:40; finishing the bike \u2013 05:00 (it is allowed to exceed time limit in normal traffic); finishing the run \u2013 09:00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Age groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Triathlon Estonia athletes are divided into following age groups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>men age between 18 \u2013 39 (M)<\/li>\n<li>men age between 40 \u2013 49 (M 40)<\/li>\n<li>men older than 50 (M 50+)<\/li>\n<li>women age between 18 \u2013 39 (N)<\/li>\n<li>women older than 40 (N 40+)<\/li>\n<li>relay teams (VK)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The age groups on sprint triathlon, olympic triathlon, open water swimming, time trial and running races are men and women.<\/p>\n<p>The age group of the athlete is determined by his or her age as of December 31st on the year of the competition. There is only one age group category for relay teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Permission to compete on Triathlon Estonia is granted to athletes who are at least 18 (15 on sprint) years old as of the race day, who have paid entry fees, who have presented their identification documents when collecting the race materials and signed an application confirming he or she competes voluntarily and doing so fully on his or her own risk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Limit of participants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following limits to the number of participants have been set by the Triathlon Estonia organizer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full distance triathlon: 150 individual athletes and 25 relay teams<\/li>\n<li>Half distance triathlon: 250 individual athletes and 75 relay teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Competition Rules<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Organizer can amend or\u00a0complement this set of Rules if it supports the interests of the Organizer and of athletes and improve the quality of the race.<\/li>\n<li>Timing is measured by chips attached to athletes\u2019 ankle.<\/li>\n<li>After finishing or dropping out the race an athlete is obligated to return the chip to the race officials. Penalty for losing\/not returning the chip is 70 EUR.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete must be acquainted with and follow the Race Regulations, follow the traffic rules and instructions from the race officials.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete is responsible for his or her own equipment and that the equipment meets the requirements set in Race Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete may not block fellow athlete\u00a0or make any sudden moves that may obstruct the motion of fellow athlete.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete has to pass through the complete distance designated by the Organizer. If an athlete leaves from the race track, he or she has to return to the track at the same point from where he or she left.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete is obligated to inform the nearest race official after leaving the race track.<\/li>\n<li>Personal assistants of athletes\u00a0may not accompany athletes using cars, motorcycles, bicycles or even running.<\/li>\n<li>Athletes may take their own food and drinks to the race. Personal assistants may hand out such food and drinks to the athlete only in specially designated areas in official drink station.<\/li>\n<li>Disposal of waste is allowed only in transition zones and in drink stations.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete may not use earplugs, cellphone, equipment that enables playback of sound or music, or any other devices that may distract the attention of the athlete in motion.<\/li>\n<li>Riding on the bike inside transition zone is prohibited. In transition zone the bike is by athlete\u2019s side when in motion.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete is allowed to leave only necessary racing equipment to the transition zone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>SWIM RULES<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>ITU competition rules apply in swim segment of the race, if not clearly stated otherwise in this document<\/li>\n<li>Open water swimming competition (only open water swimmers) wet suits are allowed whed temperature is lower than 20 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>The wetsuits are forbidden\u00a0on open water swimming race. Standing at the bottom is also allowed. An athlete may not use the bottom of the lake, floating or stationary objects on the water to gain advantage.<\/li>\n<li>An athlete may stand at the bottom or rest while holding on to immovable objects such as ropes, buoys or a boat not in motion.<\/li>\n<li>Official measuring of water temperature takes place 1 hour before the start.<\/li>\n<li>The use of swimming goggles, nasal clips and swimming caps is allowed. Swimming aids such as fins, paddles, socks, gloves and snorkling tubes are forbidden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>BIKE RULES<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>ITU competition rules apply in Bike segment of the race if not clearly stated otherwise\u00a0in this document.<\/li>\n<li>Bike helmet is mandatory. The helmet must be securely fastened at all times when the athlete is in possession of the bike, which means from the time they remove their bike from the rack at the start of the bike leg until after they have placed their bike on the rack at the finish of the bike leg;<\/li>\n<li>Bike technical assistance to the athletes is provided by the Organizer.<\/li>\n<li>Outside help for replacing the parts of the bike is allowed.<\/li>\n<li>Drafting is forbidden. The bicycle draft zone will be 12 meters long measured from the leading edge of the front wheel. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UIyzvbJW0G0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VIDEO OF ASSESS FOR DRAFTING<\/a>\u00a0An athlete is passed when another athlete&#8217;s front wheel is ahead of theirs.
